Aviram Bar-Akiva is the winner of the 'Mediterranean' photo contest

Last night in the Gallery of Photo club Split, the second international photography festival Split Format was opened. The winners of the 'Mediterranean' photo contest were announced on this occasion.

The jury was consisted of five notable members:

- Ana Žanko, art historian, the president of the jury

- Violeta Apostolova, photographer

- Stipe Surać, photojournalist

- Ivailo Stanev - Álvarez, photographer

- Fjodor Feđa Klarić, photojournalist

The photo contest winner is Israeli photographer Aviram Bar-Akiva with the series 'See the people of the sea', The second place belongs to Milan Šabić for the series 'Mediterranean are people', and the third to Brigita Ercegović for the 'Mediterranean'.

The jury has awarded a special commendation to Italian photographers Matteo Scarpa and Tomasso Vaccarezza.

The winner has also been awarded a monetary reward of €400, the runner-up €300, and the third place has won €200.

The exhibition of the three awarded photographers can be seen until 16 November 2019 in the gallery of Photo club Split.
